Salamanca, 27 de December de 2018.- Global Exchange, the Spanish multinational specialised in the provision of currency exchange services at international airports and other major tourist destinations, has been the successful bidder of the currency exchange service contract for the three main airports in Cambodia: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanouk.
The foreign currency exchange service, managed by the local bank entities until now, has been awarded to Global Exchange for the next 5 years. With the implementation of its second subsidiary in the Asian continent, Global Exchange strengthens the expansion that it initiated in this region in 2017, when the Hong Kong subsidiary was awarded.

In the capital Pnom Pen, formerly known as the “Pearl of Asia” and current economic, industrial, political and cultural centre of Cambodia, it is located the Phnom Penh International Airport, which is the most important airport in Cambodia with a total of 4.2 million passengers per year.
For its part, the Siem Reap International Airport is the gateway to some of the most important tourism assets of the country, such as the emblematic Temples of Angkor, declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1992. An average of 4.2 million passengers travel through this airport yearly.
The Sihanouk International Airport, inaugurated in 2007, is the third most important airport in Cambodia due to its access to the city of Sihanoukville at to the wonderful beaches located in the southeast of the country.
Global Exchange’s total inversion in this project adds up to 1,150,000 USD and it will give an employment to more than 80 people, 70 of which will work in customer-facing roles.
