Global Exchange, a multinational specialised in providing currency exchange services at international airports and other tourist sites, has been awarded with foreign exchange concession at Hong Kong International Airport. The contract will have a duration of 5 years and foresees the opening of 10 branches over the first half of 2018.
The concession is a significant milestone for the company in its expansion in the Asia-Pacific Region. Hong Kong Airport is a strategic hub and the world’s third busiest airport in terms of international passengers whose number exceeds 70 million, surpassed only by Heathrow Airport in London and Dubai Airport in the United Arab Emirates. In 2016, the total number of passengers amounted to 70.5 million, 70.1 of them being international passengers who are in greater need of foreign exchange services.
As the President of the Company, Isidoro J. Alanís said, “Being awarded with foreign exchange concession in Hong Kong International Airport is an important step in the expansion plan of the company in Asia-Pacific region. Given the growth experienced by the tourism industry in the area, it is one of the markets with the greatest potential in our sector.” Ten new branches will be opened in arrivals, departures, public areas and passenger restricted areas, representing one of the sites with the biggest number of branches among the workplaces of the company.
The opening, scheduled between January and February 2018, is a clear indication of the trust placed by one of the world’s leading airports in Global Exchange services, its state-of-the-art proposal and the latest technology able to satisfy the needs of the tourist of the 21st century.
The opening of the new Global Exchange branches will lead to the creation of more than 100 jobs, forming a highly professional team with all the necessary qualifications and knowledge to fulfil the company’s commitment to an excellent and differentiated service.
