Salamanca, 20th February 2018. Global Exchange, the multinational company specialized in offering foreign exchange services at international airports and other major tourist destinations, opens up its branches at Hong Kong International Airport at an event attended by the airport authorities.
The event was held in a festive atmosphere and it counted with the presence of Isidoro J. Alanís, President of Global Exchange, Francisco García Sevilla, Country Manager for the Hong Kong subsidiary, the Executive Director of Hong Kong International Airport and its General Manager of Retail and Advertising. In words of Isidoro Alanís, “We are very glad to be in Hong Kong and to become part of this important airport. We are proud to open these new Global Exchange branches that combine the most innovative design with the highest quality standards of the world. The technological developments of our branches are aimed at offering a multilingual communication that facilitates attention to any international tourist travelling from or to Hong Kong International Airport.”
The opening event was attended by major personalities as Mr. Santiago Martinez-Caro, Consul of Spain, and Charles Ng, Associate General Manager of InvestHK, among others.
Seven out of the ten branches awarded last October are already providing services 24/7 to the Hong Kong International Airport passengers. The other three will start to operate over the next few months, more precisely in March, September and November.
The arrival in Asia
The award of ten branches for a period of five years last October is an important milestone for the Spanish company in its expansion plan for the Asia-Pacific region. This plan started in 2016 with the award of ten branches at Sydney airport, in Australia. Hong Kong airport is a strategic enclave because it is the world’s top three in terms of total number of international passengers, with more than 72 million users, just behind Heathrow Airport in London and Dubai Airport in United Arab Emirates.
