The origins of Global Exchange are thrilling. We operate in the currency exchange sector since 1996. Our company was founded in Spain, in Fuentes de Oñoro (Salamanca), a border town in the frontier with Portugal, where the owners, of the company, the Alanís family, developed different tourist-oriented businesses.
In 1996 this new line of business was initiated to respond to the currency exchange needs of foreign tourists and with the aim of offering a professional and high quality service. In only 3 years, a network of 16 exchange establishments spread throughout Spain was consolidated.
Following the entry into force of the euro, our company decided to opt for an internationalisation process. In 2001, we became the only Spanish company in the sector to go international, and this new challenge began with the opening of 11 exchange offices in the 6 main airports in Argentina. Since then and until today, we have managed to operate in 58 international airports in 22 countries spread over the 5 continents, and in many tourist resorts in Central America.
The unstoppable expansion of Global Exchange has been possible thanks to our business and our organization itself, which has been adding up human and IT resources throughout the years.
All along our growth and expansion our seven corporate principles have guided our steps, under the supervision of the Board of Directors.
