  • Has invested four million euros in these countries and created 100 jobs so far.

Salamanca, 1st October 2015.- Global Exchange, third leading company in the world specialised in offering currency exchange services at international airports and tourists hotspots, continues investing in Colombia and Brazil as part of its international expansion program, with the opening of four new branches in these Subsidiaries.

To be more specific, the Salamanca-based multinational has opened two new exchange branches at Tancredo Neves International Airport in Belo Horizonte, capital of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, and has come out as successful bidder in the tender for two new exchange branches at the Rafael Núñez International Airport in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. This way, the company expands its network to 9 branches in Brazil and 8 in Colombia.

The two new branches at Belo Horizonte International Airport (Brazil) are already offering 25 foreign currencies to its more than 10 million annual passengers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Global Exchange, which set foot in Brazil at the end of 2014 with the opening of 7 branches at the airports in Brasilia and Natal, has invested 2 million euros in this Subsidiary ever since its arrival to the country, where it already counts with 60 employees to render its services in three of its most important airports.

Colombia will have eight bureaux

Meanwhile, Global Exchange has come out successful bidder in the tender to offer currency exchange services at Cartagena de Indias International Airport, where it will soon open two new branches, one at international arrivals and the other in the national arrivals area. These two new branches are added to the other two high-street branches already operating in the Caribbean city. These new branches will put at the disposal of the four million passengers passing through this airport 20 different currencies and will be open 24/7.

Global Exchange arrived at Colombia in the beginning of 2015 with the opening of two branches at El Dorado Airport in Bogotá and Jose María Córdova Airport in Medellín, to which we have been adding high-street branches and shopping centres over these months. This way, the company reaches a total amount of 8 branches in the country, 4 of which are located in three of its most important airports, and gathers a staff integrated by 50 people. Ever since it landed in Colombia, the total investment in the country amounts to two million euros.

“We are beyond happy with the reception and career that we have had both in Brazil and Colombia”, declares Isidoro Alanís, president of the Global Exchange Group, and points out that “both countries have great tourist potential”. Alanís states that “the company is constantly looking for new opportunities and destinations”. “We want to be wherever the Customer needs us and provide them with a fast, efficient and professional service, and as such we keep on working in order to open new branches in these two countries”, he asserts.
