Salamanca, 16 February 2016.- Global Exchange, one of the three leading companies worldwide specialised in providing travel money services at international airports and other major tourist destinations, has closed 2015 with an ETB of 10.8 million EUR, which represents an increase of 74% compared to last year’s results.

The CEO of Global Exchange, Isidoro J. Alanís, has explained that these results “exceed the expectations we had for 2015, which means that the Company, in terms of profits, has made history again”. “This data, which evidences the outstanding growth rate of the Company, has been propelled by our arrival in new countries, the opening of new branches and the launch of innovative products and services, such as online money orders with home delivery or airport collection, the multicurrency prepaid card GlobalCard, or the currency exchange service we render in collaboration with 6,500 Spanish travel agencies”, Alanís adds.

Global Exchange has nearly doubled its currency purchase/sale turnover in only two years, taking in over 654 million EUR by the end of 2015. This figure, which represents a 30% increase with respect to the results in 2014, has been boosted by the increment of Customers served, which is 61% higher than in the last two years, now hovering around 4.2 million.

The EBITDA has reached 13.6 million EUR, an increase of 51% with respect to 2014. Besides, the EBIT has been established at 11.8 million Euros, 59% more than in the previous year.

The Company, headquartered in Salamanca, has closed 2015 with 180 branches, 28 more than a year ago –distributed over 17 countries–, after the opening of 8 branches in Colombia, 3 in Switzerland and 1 in Croatia. Additionally, Global Exchange plans to inaugurate this year another two branches at Billund International Airport, in Denmark, after recently winning its concession.

The growth of Global Exchange is paired up with the intensification of our investments, going from 5 million in 2014 to 10 million in 2015. On the flip side, the Company staff has experienced an increase of 20%, reaching 1,600 employees.
