Salamanca, 13 September 2018.- Global Exchange, the Spanish multinational company specialized in providing foreign currency exchange services at International Airports, has been awarded to be the unique operator at Istanbul New Airport. This is the most important contract in the story of the company to be operated at the largest airport infraestructure worldwide.
Istanbul New Airport will be the first aerodrome in Turkey and the fifth in Europe, just behind Heathrow (Londres), Charles de Gaulle (Paris), Schiphol (Amsterdam) and Frankfurt. With an investment of approximately 10,25 billion Euros, Istanbul New Airport will the only one with 6 independent runways, settled on 76,5 million sqm, with 1.4 million sqm built and a comercial area of 100,000 sqm., that will accomodate up to 200 million passengers at the end of the project. At the new airport 100 different airlines will connect 350 destinations.
The opening of Istanbul New Airport, foreseen for 29th October, will mean for Global Exchange opening 40 new branches in record time. In order to tackle this pharaonic challenge , the Turkish staff of Global Exchange will grow up to 500 people, which means a 25% increase of the total employees. As a consequence, the Turkish subsidiary will be one of the most important ones within the Group.

Global Exchange has become the main foreign Exchange operator at Turkish Airports. The first step into Turkey was at Antalya Airport in 2017, when it opened 4 new branches. During the last month, 44 new branches have been added to the local operation; 4 of them at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, the second largest airport in Estambul, and now, 40 more branches at Istanbul New Airport. This new contract guarantees Global Exchange presence in the country at least for the next 15 years.
