Global Exchange in StartUp Olé, the national event for the international tech start-ups

  • Spanish and international start-ups, companies, investors, media and public authorities gathered for Startup Olé 2017

Salamanca, 26th April 2017.- Global Exchange, Spanish multinational company specialised in currency exchange services, present at international airports and other popular travel spots in five continents keeps investing in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, inside and outside our borders. For second year in a row, Global Exchange sponsors Startup Olé, the top national start-up event for international entrepreneurs.

Startup Olé 2017 will be held on 26th and 27th April in Hospedería Fonseca, building owned by the University of Salamanca. Over 2,500 attendees, 400 start-ups and more than 250 participants including decision-makers, consultants, government officials, corporations, communication media and universities will be hosted.

In its third edition, Startup Olé will focus again on technology and young entrepreneurs from the international scene, two key tools for the Global Exchange Group. The Salamanca-based multinational aims to encourage technology in all its projects, software and improvements. This is evidenced by the large team of Analysts, Programmers, Architects and Developers working in-house for the Global Exchange Group to ensure that Customer’s experience is enhanced to the fullest. This event is the perfect background to meet new talents, discover what young entrepreneurs are thinking of and find out what the latest trends are in the fin-tech industry as well as the emerging companies not to miss this year.

Collaborations and speakers

Global Exchange reinforces its close relationship with the University of Salamanca, one of the event hosts. Other members of the organisation committee were the Castile and Leon Council-ADE and the European Startup Europe. Other collaborating companies were SEPE, Iberdrola, Fundación Repsol, Madrid Startup House, ViewNext, Europe Money 2020, Banco Sabadell, Alcobendas City Council and Salamanca Tourism Office.

The conference will feature speakers such as Global Exchange Chief Business Development Officer Ángel de León, along with Juhan Lepassar, Head of the Vice President Cabinet of the European Commission, Isidro Laso as Head of Startup Europe of the European Commission and María Pilar de Olmo, Economy Councillor in the Castile and León Council.  Other important attendees of Startup Olé 2017 will be Amazon, Renfe, Iberdrola, Amadeus or Trivago, Government Offices such as the European Committee of the Regions or the European Parliament, services from Spanish Ministries such as ENISA, SEGITUR, RED.ES or ICEX, communication media, consultants, European universities and over 250 volunteers from the University of Salamanca.
