Salamanca, 31 March 2016- Global Exchange, third leading company in the world specialised in offering currency exchange services at international airports and tourists hotspots, will invest nearly €1M in the opening of 5 branches at three of the main airports in Russia, a country that has become key in its international expansion strategy.

More specifically, Global Exchange will rollout operations with one branch at Pulkovo International Airport, in Saint Petersburg, one of the most hectic in Russia, receiving 13.5 million passengers a year.

The Company, headquartered in Salamanca, has signed an agreement to open two branches in Novosibirsk-Tolmachevo International Airport. Located in Ob, this airport serves as gateway and exit door to 3.7 million passengers in a very important industrial and scientific hub in Siberia. Global Exchange will also add to its network two branches located at Kazan International Airport, with 1.8 million travellers passing through its gates every year.

Global Exchange will presumably close the opening of these branches at some point between May and June, creating 50 jobs locally.

The CEO of Global Exchange, Isidoro J. Alanís, has pointed out that their arrival to Russia is a very important contribution to the company’s international growth strategy. “With the opening of our branches in Russia, we are one step closer to becoming the second leading company worldwide providing currency exchange services at international airports for our number of branches, thus meeting our goals for 2016”.

The Salamanca-based Multinational is leader in rendering foreign exchange services at airports in Latin America and has reinforced its commitment to finding new markets in other continents. Today, it is focused on consolidating its presence in Europe, where it has recently opened branches in Denmark, Switzerland and Croatia.
