Salamanca, 11 July 2016- Global Exchange, third leading company in the world specialised in providing currency exchange services at international airports and other popular tourist destinations, continues to bank on its expansion around Europe and opens four new branches in Copenhagen (Denmark).
With a 2.5 million Euros investment, Global Exchange arrives to Copenhagen International Airport with two branches in the Arrivals area and another two at Baggage claims. This projects allows Global Exchange to create 40 new jobs locally and reinforces its position as currency exchange operator in Denmark.
Copenhagen International Airport is the main airdrome in Denmark with flights to 156 destinations in the world. In 2015, this airport received 26,577,931 passengers –24,639,122 of which were international–, and it was awarded with the Skytrax award to the best airport in the North of Europe.

The CEO of Global Exchange, Isidoro J. Alanís, has explained that the addition of these four branches represents a turning point for the strategy of Global Exchange, which continues to nurture a steady growth in Europe after several years in the quest for expansion around Latin America, the North Africa and Asia. “In the beginning of 2016 we entered Denmark with the opening of two branches at Billund International Airport. Now we are taking a step forward and are opening four new branches in the most important airport in the country, located in the capital, consolidating our presence in the country and our position in Europe”, he explains.
Global Exchange continues its expansion in the continent
The multinational, headquartered in Salamanca, closed 2015 with the opening of three new branches at Geneva International Airport, where the investment made exceeded 1.9 million Euros, and started 2016 with two new branches in Denmark –Billund International Airport (BIA) to be more specific–, to which we now add another four branches at Copenhagen International Airport. Additionally, the company in currently in the last rollout phase in Russia, where it is soon expected to start operations at three of the main airports in the country.
In just a few months, the company has gone from being solely based in Spain to having a 41-branch network distributed around 5 European countries. Today, Global Exchange is based is 19 countries of four continents through 205 branches in 52 airports worldwide.
