  • Global Exchange reaches 72 offices in the country, consolidating its position as a leader in the Mexican currency exchange market.

  • For Isidoro J. Alanís, President and CEO of Global Exchange Group, this expansion "not only strengthens our competitive position, but also demonstrates our ability to identify and take advantage of growth opportunities in key markets worldwide".

Global Exchange has taken a decisive step in its international expansion strategy with the launch of 8 new currency exchange offices in three key airports in Mexico: Cancun, Merida and Cozumel. This opening, effective since the beginning of September, consolidates the company's position as the undisputed leader in the Mexican currency exchange market.

Most of this expansion is concentrated at Cancun International Airport, a reference city in international tourism, where Global Exchange has inaugurated 6 of the 8 new offices. This strategic decision responds to the extraordinary dynamism of this airport hub, which in 2024 has registered 30 million annual passengers—20 million of them international—positioning itself in the Top 5 busiest airports in Latin America.

The expansion is completed with the opening of an office at the "Manuel Crescencio Rejón" International Airport in Merida, capital of the state of Yucatan and an important economic and tourist center that serves as a gateway to the Mayan world. Additionally, Global Exchange has begun operations at Cozumel airport, a paradise island globally recognized as a diving destination and whose port constitutes the main arrival point for cruises in the country and the Caribbean.

For Santiago Calderón, Retail Business Director of Global Exchange, "this expansion represents a fundamental milestone in our growth strategy in Mexico, a market that we consider key to our international development. Being present in these three strategic airports allows us to offer our services to millions of international travelers in one of the most important tourist regions in the world."

With these new openings, Global Exchange reaches 72 offices in Mexico, strategically distributed across 17 airports, 23 hotels and 9 urban locations, supported by a team of 390 employees. This robust network definitively consolidates the company's leadership in the Mexican currency exchange market.

For Isidoro J. Alanís, President and CEO of Global Exchange Group, "Mexico has become one of our most strategic markets, and these 8 new offices are proof of our unwavering commitment to the country and our customers. This expansion not only strengthens our competitive position, but also demonstrates our ability to identify and take advantage of growth opportunities in key markets worldwide."

This expansion in Mexican territory is part of Global Exchange's global strategy, which maintains a presence in 30 countries and continues to consolidate its position as an international reference in currency exchange services, especially in tourist destinations of high strategic value.

The commitment to Mexico, where Global Exchange has been operating since 2008, reflects the Spanish multinational's confidence in the potential of the Latin American market and its commitment to being present where customers need its services, offering cutting-edge currency exchange solutions, agile and applying the highest standards of quality and service.
