After securing the management of the currency service at Heathrow (London), the Spanish company achieves a leadership position in the European airport sector.
Global Exchange will manage the currency exchange service in four of the five most important and busiest airports in Europe: Heathrow, Istanbul, Paris-Charles De Gaulle, and Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas.
After achieving global leadership as the company with the largest international presence (31 countries and 88 airports), it is now also a reference in Europe.
Following its entry into the Japanese market last September, Global Exchange achieved global leadership as the company with the largest international presence in its sector. A historic milestone for a Spanish multinational company that maintains its family character. Additionally, it has recently become the operator that will manage the currency exchange service in four of the five most important and busiest airports in Europe, propelling it to lead its sector in the European airport market and accessing more than 300 million annual travelers through these 4 hubs alone.
Presence in 4 of the 5 most important airports in Europe
The incorporation, starting in 2026, of Heathrow Airport (London) into Global Exchange's worldwide network represents a transcendental milestone in the company's trajectory. This airport, with 84 million passengers in 2024 and connections to 230 destinations in 85 countries, is the largest and busiest in Europe and the commercial and tourist epicenter of the United Kingdom.
Global Exchange's European presence also encompasses other airports within the continent's top 5. Since 2019, the company has operated at Istanbul International Airport (Turkey), the main bridge between Asia and Europe, which registered more than 80 million passengers in 2024.
At Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport (France), third in the European ranking, Global Exchange has maintained a presence since 2018. This airport terminal received 70 million passengers in 2024.
Meanwhile, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport (Spain) has had Global Exchange services since 2011. The company currently operates in all four terminals, through which more than 66 million travelers passed during 2024.
This strategic presence in four of the five main European airports, added to the rest of its continental airport network, consolidates Global Exchange as the leading operator in currency exchange in the European airport sector with 158 offices, 279 ATMs, and 85 automatic exchange dispensers.
Global Exchange world reference
This positioning responds to the company's strategy of being present at the main international transit points, offering accessible and innovative currency exchange solutions and services in the most relevant airport centers on the continent. Global Exchange has become the reference company for different global airport operators, offering a modern, cutting-edge, and technologically advanced service focused on providing an agile and high-value service to its more than 12.5 million annual customers.
Today, the Spanish company is present in 31 countries with nearly 500 exchange offices located in 88 international airports, as well as in cities of tourist interest, hotels, and ports. A network that has made Global Exchange the world's leading company with the largest international presence.
