Global Exchange is undergoing a significant international expansion process that reflects its commitment to strengthening and broadening its global presence.
The Spanish multinational company has just begun operations in Romania, thus incorporating the 29th country into its growing worldwide network.
It has inaugurated two new offices strategically located at Cluj-Napoca International Airport, the main gateway to the historic region of Transylvania. This airport, which received 3.2 million passengers in 2024, serves Cluj-Napoca, Romania's second most important city and one of the country's most prominent tourist centers.
Cluj-Napoca, situated in the heart of Transylvania, represents an enclave of extraordinary strategic and cultural value. The city stands out for its vibrant multicultural atmosphere, its significant university community, and its intense cultural life, factors that make it an increasingly popular destination among European and international travelers.
With this new opening, Global Exchange strengthens its position as a world leader in currency exchange services, reaching the figure of 476 offices distributed across 81 international airports in 29 countries.
For Santiago Calderón, Global Exchange Group's Retail Business General Manager, "this new opening of another country, the fourth in four months, represents an important milestone for the company that reflects the effort, commitment, and professionalism of all our teams. We are delighted and excited to start this new adventure in a country like Romania".
