Global Exchange's subsidiary in Guatemala has signed a collaboration agreement with the Government to promote a social project for children and adolescents with intellectual functioning limitations and autism spectrum disorders. The agreement was signed by the President and CEO of Global Exchange, Isidoro J. Alanís, in a ceremony attended by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Guatemala, Mr. Bernardo Arévalo, and the country's First Lady, Mrs. Lucrecia Peinado, who is driving this project.
Four specialized care centers
The project includes the establishment of four mini remote care centers located in towns in the interior of Guatemala. These centers will provide specialized remote care to minors with special needs, under the technical support of the Neurological Institute of Guatemala.
Global Exchange's participation will ensure that these spaces have the best physical and technological conditions, creating effective, accessible, and safe environments that enhance the cognitive development of participants.
A commitment born from social conviction
"For Global Exchange, it is an honor to contribute to such a noble and inspiring cause," stated Isidoro J. Alanís during the signing ceremony. "We define ourselves as a company with soul, where people are at the center of everything we do. We firmly believe in the importance of giving back to society part of what it gives us."
The project stems from the Spanish multinational's collaboration with the Secretariat of Social Welfare (SBS) and the Secretariat of Social Works of the President's Wife (SOSEP).
